Absent Officers and Directors: Todd Bednarek, Rebecca Allen, Megan Hunsinger, Danielle Hanafin, and Lauren Tousley.
The meeting minutes were read and approved.
Committee Reports:
Treasurer Report: We currently have $10,581.64 in our account.
Budget Report: We raised over $2,000.00 from our fundraising efforts at the Convention; however, we need to keep up the effort.
Public Relations: If you have any news that you would like to share, please send it to Erica Wilson.
Judging: Anyone interested, please contact Amanda Wendt. We also need barns to go to so that we can practice.
Horse Show: There is a conflict with our show dates for our July show as there is an IROL Race in Watkins Glen the same weekend and they have reserved all of the hotel rooms in the area. There was much discussion of changing dates or location or both. Empire is willing to give up their show June 30 & July 1 to allow the youth to have the dates June 30, July 1-3 pending AQHA approval.
Fundraising: We discussed some ideas:
Old Business:
Contracts: Bonnie Hansen will do the food booth for the June 9 & 10 show. The July show is tabled until the dates are finalized. Jeff Steer gave us a proposal for the trail course, the cost will be $400. Total with $200 being the trail course supply rental and $200 for the course design and setting the course.
A motion was made by Jeni Nagel to accept the proposal by Jeff Steer to supply and set our trail courses at both shows. Seconded by Erica Wilson. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Amanda Wendt to have Lisa Williams contact Creekside Photography to do both of our shows if they are available. Seconded by Nicole Thomas. Motion carried.
New Business:
Saddles for Awards: tabled until next meeting.
A motion was made by Hilary Huttleston to have Todd Bednarek ask Gene Bingman to grill the hot dogs at our shows. Seconded by Jeni Nagel. Motion carried.
YES Convention: June 28 - July 1 in Amarillo, TX. If anyone is interested in going, let Missy know at the next meeting.
Ford Truck Raffle Tickets: Will be available at the next meeting. You must prepay for the tickets when you take them. They are $50.00 for a packet of ten. You sell them for $5.00 each or 6 for $25.00.
A discussion took place on having a Cuse Classic qualifying class at our shows. The entry fee could be a fundraiser for us. Karen Kuhla will check with Empire to see if they would also have one class at one of their shows.
We talked about having a Horse Council class at our shows, we will follow suit if Empire is going to have one. We need to get more information about the requirements.
Mike Bednarek and Larry Jaynes spoke about the conflict of our show in July and let us know that Empire is not going to have the Spring Show so that the youth could move their show up to their weekend resolving the conflict of not having enough hotel rooms.
A motion was made by Amanda Wendt to change our show date to June 30, July 1-3 pending AQHA approval if Empire can keep its original date for the future. Seconded by Jeni Nagel. Motion carried.
