Horseshow: This year is a rollover year, so the horseshow dates have been changed from the last few years.
The ESQHA Spring Show and the ESQHYA July Show are two consecutive weekends. The two clubs are looking into combining the shows with clinics and special events during the week so that the exhibitors will be encouraged to stay the entire week. There was a general discussion regarding the shavings at the horseshow. The youth are considering selling the shavings for both shows. Lisa Williams and Linda Wendt are looking into getting truckload prices. More discussion will be needed because we will need committed youth to help.
The Kind of Klassic show has been discontinued. There will be a new show in Saugerties under new management pending AQHA approval. A motion was made by Kristen Williams to remove the Kind Of A Klassic as a qualifier for the world show and Congress since the Klassic has been discontinued. It was seconded by Rebecca Allen.
A motion was made by Erica Wilson and seconded by Nicole Thomas to change the by-laws for state qualifying shows to the first and second Spring Fling Shows (Lehman Farms), Saugerties, Cobleskill Spring Show, Breeders, and the ESQHYA Spring Show as our pointed world show qualifying shows.
Amanda Wendt is going to ask Jeff Steer if he is interested in doing the trail courses again for the youth club and what he would charge. Amanda Wendt made a motion stating that in order to receive a year end award you have to show in two out of the four Empire shows. It was seconded by Jeni Nagel.
