ESQHYA Meeting

Sherwood Inn, Skaneateles

 

The meeting was called to order at 10:57am.

 

Absent officers and directors include Todd Bednarek, Kristen Williams, Ashlee Streeter, Danielle Hannifin, and Jeni Nagel. 

 

Treasurer Report: $14,114.28

 

Committee Reports:

□    Budget:  Our fundraiser budget was $3,000 for 2007 and we surpassed that.  Our 2008 budget mount for fundraising is set at $10,000. 

□    Judging:  The hippology team placed 4th at the Congress. 

□    Community Service:  We collected toys for Toys for Tots.

□    Awards: If you have not received a call from Mrs. Allen, please call her regarding your year-end award if you won a high point. 

 

Old Business:

Region 5 Conference:  We had six people go.  They all said it was fun and they had real bull riders come in and did some bull rides.

 

Convention:  it is $78 a night for hotel room; a motion was made by Nicole Thomas to buy the auctioneer a room and dinner.  Motion was seconded by Rebecca Allen.  A motion was made by Allison Schaffer to pay $10 towards the youth dinners and seconded by Rebecca Allen.  Please solicit and bring items for the auction. 

 

Bylaw change will be voted on in January. 

 

New Business:

Elections for 2008:

President: Amanda Wendt

Vice President: Lauren Tousley

Secretary: Hilary Huttleston

Treasurer: Rebecca Allen

Newsletter Editor: Jordan Edwards

Directors: Mikayla Taylor, Tess Arnone, Allison Schafer, Zac Clark, Tyler Steinhilber, Alexandra Mahaffy, Megan Hunsinger, and Nicole Thomas.

 

A motion was made by Jordan Edwards to do a 50/50 raffle at the convention with all the proceedings going to Michelle Kreimeyer.  Motion was seconded by Megan Hunsinger. 

To all those who are going to college you can apply for two scholarships, the one AQHA offers and the Jim Barton one. 

 

Horse Show:

A motion was made by Katie Kayes to combine the June show with ESQHA show and it was seconded by Mikayla Taylor.  A motion was made by Lauren Tousley to have the June How in the Coliseum at the fairground in Syracuse.  The motion was seconded by Allison Schaffer.  The dates for the show are June 12th – 15th.  A motion was made by Rebecca Allen to have the July show in the coliseum at the fairgrounds in Syracuse if it’s available with the fairgrounds and AQHA approved.  Motion was seconded by Cassie Hall.  A motion was made by Rebecca Allen to have Gene Caufield to be our camper and stalls monitor.  The motion was seconded by Erica Wilson. 


A motion was made by Hilary Huttleston and seconded by Rebecca Allen to adjourn the meeting at 12:23pm.
